QRIDA Disaster Assistance Loan

- Purpose:
Disaster Assistance Loans are available to assist primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations with re-establishing normal operations. Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, commencing 21 March 2025 Barcoo, Boulia, Bulloo, Diamantina, Longreach, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, Winton Shire Councils
- Criteria:
Concessional loans are provided to assist you to re-establish the normal operations of your primary production enterprise by covering costs such as: repairing or replacing damaged plant and equipment repairing or replacing farm buildings purchasing livestock to replace those lost in the disaster event meeting carry-on requirements including: re-planting, restoring or re-establishing areas affected by the disaster event, sustenance, essential property operations, paying rent and rates.

QRIDA Disaster Assistance (Essential Working Capital) Loans
- Delivered by:

- Purpose:
Loans are available to assist primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations with essential working capital for expenses for Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, commencing 21 March 2025 Barcoo, Boulia, Bulloo, Diamantina, Longreach, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, Winton Shire Councils.
- Criteria:
Concessional loans are provided to assist you with essential working capital for expenses such as: paying salaries or wages, paying creditors, paying rent or rates, buying goods, including for example, fuel essential to carry on the primary production enterprise, buying fodder or water for livestock or produce, transporting livestock or produce.

Essential Household Contents Grant
- Purpose:
To replace essential lost household contents, such as bed linen and white goods.
- Criteria:
Live in the affected area, own the items that have been lost, own or rent the affected residence, are uninsured or unable to claim insurance, meet the income limits. We will visit your home to assess the damage. We will need photographic evidence if items must be disposed of. This grant is income tested - Your gross (before tax) weekly income must be less than or equal to: individual: $1,179 ($61,322 per year), couple: $1,630 ($84,782 per year), sole parent, one child: $1,632 ($84,841 per year), couple, one child: $2,021 ($105,125 per year). For each additional child, add $391 per week.For each dependent adult, add $451 per week. The income test is applied to all adults over the age of 18 on the application. Adult dependents over the age of 18 are encouraged to submit their own application.

Queensland Country Women’s Association Public Rural Crisis Fund

Financial support for those affected by flooding event.
- Criteria:
only one application will be accepted each calendar year per family/household.

Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants
- Delivered by:
QRIDA
- Purpose:
Grants of up to $75,000 are available for affected producers following the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, commencing 21 March 2025, to hire or purchase equipment and materials, clean up, remove debris, replace fencing and other costs associated with the recovery process. Producers should take photographs of the direct damage to accompany their application/s.
Applicants need to show they are an eligible primary producer, within the declared disaster area and demonstrate they have suffered direct impact from the disaster. Read below and the guidelines for more information.
The maximum grant amount is $75,000 and can be accessed through the following:
- Initial application/s up to the total amount of $5,000 is available to support an initial claim. Evidence of the direct damage is required such as photographs and quotations, tax invoices or official receipts.
- Subsequent application/s up to the total amount of $70,000 is available to support subsequent claims for which full evidence of payment is required.
Complete applications are assessed in order of receipt and QRIDA may request further information to help assess an application.

The Minister for Fire and Emergency Services has activated disaster assistance for Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, commencing 21 March.

Applications close 2 April 2026. - Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants - Western
A new application must be completed for an initial and subsequent application.
Applications can be submitted online via QRIDA's Application Portal or by downloading the application form and submitting to QRIDA by email or post.
If using the paper application form, please ensure you download and save to your computer before completing the form.
