Help put our local flood knowledge on the map.
Join Barcoo Shire Council and the Queensland Reconstruction Authority for a community mapping exercise to help inform future disaster and resilience planning.
Participants will walk over a large satellite floor map and share their knowledge of local waterways, flood behaviour, roads, important infrastructure and places where people become isolated, particularly drawing on experiences from the 2025 floods.
Your insights will help update Knowledge Awareness Maps for the Barcoo, Lower Thomson and Paroo catchments, supporting a better understanding of flooding and its impacts across our region.
Residents, landholders, business owners, volunteers and community members are all welcome. Come along, share your local knowledge and help us plan for the future.
