As a requirement under recent legislation, Council has established a customer service standard for its water supply which sets targets for a number of key performance indicators.

The customer service standard also includes the process for service connections, billing, metering, accounting, customer consultation, complaints and dispute resolution.

All submissions to the draft customer service standard will be considered and the final version of the standard will be prepared by 31 December 2014. The final version will be made available for inspection at Council’s Office as well as being published on Council’s website.

The 2014 Get Ready Queensland – Resilient Australia Awards celebrate and highlight the resilient nature of Queenslanders in the face of natural disasters and are jointly conducted by the Australian Federal Government and the State.

Winners will be announced in October and invited to represent Queensland at the national awards ceremony in Canberra later in the year.

Awards are open to all people, organisations and businesses throughout Queensland.

Categories include:

  • Not-for-profit sector [includes volunteer, youth and community groups and organisations]
  • Education and research sector [includes primary, secondary and tertiary education institutions and research organisations]
  • Private sector [includes individuals, small to medium enterprises, business and infrastructure providers]
  • Local government
  • State and territory government
  • Australian Government [This category is only judged at a national level]

Photograph that depicts what disaster resilience in Australia means to you. [Individual and Professional Photographer streams. Photographic entries will be shortlisted by a panel and then uploaded to the Australian Emergency Management Knowledge Hub for public voting.]

If a project/initiative has possible national significance, the application will not be judged at a state/territory level but forwarded for national judging under the special "Projects of national significance" category.

August – September: Queensland judging conducted

October 2014: Queensland awards ceremony held

December 2014: National presentation of national awards
