Wild Dog Bounty
Barcoo Shire Council is offering $100 per wild dog scalp for the first 500 wild dogs submitted under our Wild Dog Bounty Trial. Once the 500 dog cap is reached, the bounty will return to $30 per scalp.
How to claim the bounty
Landholders must provide all of the following to support their claim.
-
The wild dog scalp for verification
-
The date and location where each wild dog was destroyed
-
A photograph of each wild dog taken at the site where it was destroyed
-
A completed and verified Wild Dog Bounty Claim Form
Why Council is running the trial
The trial is one of several initiatives being delivered by the Barcoo Shire Rural Lands Advisory Committee to manage wild dogs across the Shire. It complements aerial and ground baiting and helps Council gather information to better target future control programs.
Council will collect the information submitted with claims and share it with the Committee to help identify where wild dog activity is occurring and plan future control efforts.
