BUILDING SERVICES

  • Development approval is required before you start building and/or plumbing and drainage work on your property.

  • This includes renovations, alterations and additions and before erecting retaining walls, carports and swimming pools.

  • Council officers can inspect and approve your construction project, in line with state laws.

COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL BUILDING APPLICATIONS

  • Council has limited capacity to receive and assess Commercial / industrial building applications therefore Council recommends you lodge the application with a Private Certifier

WATER APPROVALS FOR PLUMBING APPLICATIONS

  • Process for obtaining plumbing approvals - evidence of water approval from Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) must be provided at application stage if located in a service provider's area.  For further details contact QUU on 13 26 57 or visit www.urbanutilities.com.au.

PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE NOTIFIABLE WORK - FORM 4

  • All plumbing work outside the schedule of Notifiable Work (Form 4) requires Council approval prior to commencement of work.

The Corporate Plan outlines Council’s objectives for the current five-year period and is structured around the four key areas of Council. The Corporate Plan sets out Council’s vision, mission and values as well as outlining what Council will do to progress the four key areas.

Notice To Ratepayers

All property owners in the Barcoo Shire Council are advised that Rate Notices will be issued biannually in September and March each year.

Notices will be issued to the last advised address on Council records and it is the responsibility of the owner to advise council of any changes of address in writing. 

If you as owner do not receive your Rate Notice please contact the Council Office, 6 Perkins Street, Jundah on 07 4658 6900 as soon as possible.

Payment is required within the specified discount period as per the Revenue Policy and your Rate Notice. Under no circumstances will a discount be allowed on payments received after the final date for discount shown on the Rate Notice.

Do you have a community project that will help to develop local skills, build community wellbeing and resilience, or is a creative arts and culture idea? RADF may be able to help you!

What is RADF?

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Barcoo Shire Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

What are some examples of RADF approved activities in the past?

Arts and craft workshops, town beautification projects, murals, sculptures, comedy show tours, children/youth workshops, theatre performances, the list goes on! Use your imagination to come up with a unique idea!

When can my community group apply?

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is now open (as of 1st July) for community groups to apply for funding for community arts and culture projects within the Barcoo Shire. Closes 1st August 2022.

1. Dowload theBarcoo Shire RADF Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions to assess if you are eligible for funding.

2. Download the Barcoo Shire RADF Application Form and fill in the details. You may wish to refer to FAQ's to ensure information is filled out correctly.

3. Return your completed Barcoo Shire RADF Application Form to the RADF Liaison Officer prior to the round closing date.

4. You will be contacted post Arts & Culture Committee Meeting to advise if your application was successful.

5. Once you/your committee has been contacted - ADVERTISE YOUR ARTS PROGRAM! Please note the requirements in the RADF Guidelines or ask Megan for assitance with this.

6. Immediately after your event, request that participants fill out the Barcoo Shire RADF Activity Survey. This will provide feedback, determine value for money and assist with Barcoo Shire Council's annual bid for funding. Survey's can be forwarded to the RADF Liaison Officer.

7. Download the Barcoo Shire RADF Project Outcome Report, fill in the details and return to the RADF Liaison Officer within 8 weeks of the completion date of your approved program. Please note that this form is compulsary and no further funding can be approved until information is returned.
